The Langley RCMP is dedicated to protect and serve the citizens of Langley through the prevention and reduction of crime, in partnership with our community.
Welcome to the Langley RCMP website.
The members and staff at Langley Detachment are proud to serve in what we believe is the most beautiful community in the Lower Mainland, and are committed to our role in making this community safer for all of its residents.
Langley is ideally situated, providing the amenities of a large urban environment while maintaining the ambiance of a small friendly community. The detachment currently enjoys, and will continue to foster, a close working relationship with the City and Township of Langley and their elected officials. These positive relationships, coupled with our supportive community and hundreds of dedicated citizen volunteers, provide the foundation of our successful daily operations.
In order to maintain these relationships we must continue to be accountable to the community. We will endeavour to exceed citizen expectations, providing the highest quality police service to meet the needs of the growing Langleys. With that goal in mind, the detachment works closely with a number of local groups, organizations and committees. We foster direct connections to the community via our five Community Police Offices, allowing us to focus on neighbourhood specific concerns.
When crime issues cross municipal boundaries, Langley Detachment maintains its strong partnership within the larger Lower Mainland District Regional Police Service . This structure facilitates the coordination of a cooperative framework of all detachments within the Lower Mainland and allows us to take advantage of the operational effectiveness and efficiencies of a number of integrated policing units. We can also call upon resources from the RCMP's provincial and federal policing components (Police Dog Services, Forensic Identification Service, Air One, etc.) whenever they would be of benefit to the community and our policing efforts.
Through the combined efforts of the detachment and our community, Langley has seen a significant reduction in crime over the past several years. These crime reduction efforts have clearly had an impact. We will continue to forge new partnerships and implement innovative strategies to ensure Langley continues to be one of the most desirable communities in which to live.
